Environmental Protection

Lee Kum Kee invests in the latest technologies and renewable energy sources to minimise impact to the environment.

52% of worldwide energy consumption comes from renewable sources.

The Group adopts clean energy sources at the Xinhui Production Base. The renewable heat continued to be supplied by biomass, geothermal energy and solar thermal energy.

Our production bases in Hong Kong, Huangpu and Xinhui, China have implemented the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

Solar Photovoltaic Power Generation System

We provide around 47,000 square metres of the rooftops of four warehouses in Xinhui Production Base for the system.

In 2017, around 4,100 MWh of electricity was avoided by this system.

It also provided over 148.68 MWh to the public grid, equivalent to the average monthly electricity consumption of 2,490 local people in Guangdong*.

Biomass Fuel Steam Generators

In 2017, 134,500 MWh was avoided.

Geothermal Heat Pump System

In 2017, a total of 7,090 MWh of energy was avoided by Phase I system, resulting in a cost saving of over HKD 1,420,000.

In 2017, the three systems avoided over 145,000 MWh.
Equivalent to the average monthly electricity consumption of over 2,440,000 local people in Guangdong.
